Handley Page Victor K.2 XM715 'Teasin Tina' Anti-Det run at Bruntingthorpe Airfield on the 25th October 2015
Handley Page Victor K.2, XM715 'Teasin Tina' lives at Bruntingthorpe Airfield in Leicestershire. This private event was held to enable the aircraft to carry out one of its regular Anti-Det runs which was to include a fast taxy, the day was also to be used to test all the systems on the aircraft including its massive drag-chute, something I'd never seen before on the Victor. It was an event not to be missed & luckily, it was held in some very favourable weather conditions.
Sunday 25th October 2015 was the day selected for the run. The airfield was quiet, although the museum was open, so some members of the public were on the airfield. Mid to late morning was the time allocated for static photography of the Victor. There was even some steps made available for this purpose.
By 3PM, the aircraft was ready & the fast taxy 'run' was a 'go!'. It was to be piloted by Bob Tuxford. Handley Page Victor, XM715, 'Teasin Tina' taxied to the runway intersection, the Pilot gave us a wave & the aircraft was then taxied to the end of the runway prior to its run.
Shortly after 3.15PM the brakes were released, the throttles increased to full power & the aircraft hurtled down the runway. A few seconds later XM715 released its drag-chute. What a sight, awesome!!
During the day I was also able to photograph English Electric Canberra B(I)8/B.6 MOD, WT333, which was also carrying out one of its regular anti-det runs. All in all a cracking day! This section contains 72 unique images taken during the day:
